How to Change the Wallpaper in Windows Vista

  1. Right click the desktop.
  2. Choose Personalize from the menu.
  3. In the window that appears, choose desktop background from the list of choices you see.
  4. The window will now show built-in wallpaper choices, click Browse to locate your newly downloaded wallpaper files.
  5. The browse dialog will appear, use it to locate the folder which contains your desired wallpaper, for example User\Pictures\Wallpaper. Click Open.
  6. The Desktop Background window will now display the contents of the folder your chosen wallpaper image resides in.
  7. Click OK. Your changes will immediately take effect.
