Hieroglyph Icons Wick Vulture Reeds


These icons are a tribute to the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs or 'Divine Words' as the Egyptians themselves called them. The glyphs have inspired nearly every other alphabet ever used, including the Roman alphabet.

This collection of icons contains the twenty-four uniliteral symbols of the phonetic hieroglyphic alphabet. The hieroglyphs are set in relief and there are both inserted and embossed versions of each hieroglyph.

The glyphs: arm, vulture, leg, hand, cobra, viper, jar, reed shelter, wick, reed, basket, placenta, cow belly, owl, wave, reed mat, hill, mouth, folded cloth, pool, loaf, tether, quail and double reeds.
