Frequently Asked Questions

How is the Getting Started with iPhoneography course run?

During the week, the class focuses on easy photo assignments delivered right to your email inbox. Aim to shoot 3 photos Monday-Friday and even if you can't make it every day, you'll still start building momentum.

On Friday's you'll get an email about our weekend workshops.

Our online class space is a private Flickr group where you can share your photos each week, collaborate and take part in discussions.

At the end of the course you have the opportunity to participate in an online student art show.

2 weeks

But I’m a beginner – can I still take part?

Definately! No previous photography or iPhone experience is necessary to take part in Getting Started with iPhoneography.

I don’t have a PayPal account. How do I pay?

You can pay with a credit or debit card without having a PayPal account. When you get to the screen that asks you to sign in with your PayPal account, simply click the option that says “Don’t have a PayPal account.”

Will you be running this course again?

I haven't decided yet. If I do, it won't be until the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014.

Will I need to be in class at certain times?

No, there are no set times when you have to be in class. The assignments will be emailed to you on set days, but you can work through them at your own pace and  visit our Flickr group at any time. This is a self-paced course, so you can fit it in whenever it's best for you.

Can I bring more than one friend for the bring-a-friend discount?

Yes! You can bring as many as you like!

I'm an introvert, do I have to share my photos?

It's completely optional to share your photos and/or receive feedback. If you like you can work through the course entirely on your own. During the course I'll be available if you want to send me questions or ask for help via email instead of through our course space. It's important that you find a way that works for you

I will say though, that sharing as a group is a wonderful way to gain new insights into your images and learn from your fellow course mates. We’ll all be focussed on learning more about how to use our mobile devices to create photography and art – so the group will be a safe and supportive place to share this vulnerable part of the creative process.

Can I give the course as a gift? Do you offer gift certificates?

We do indeed! Here's how to get one:

  1. Purchase the course  you want to give as a gift.
  2. Write to me and let me know the name and email of your recipient.
  3. I'll email you a gift certificate that you can either print out to give as a present, or pop in an email to give to someone virtually.
