Airplane in the blue hour

iPhone photography: Airplane in the blue hour

I’ve been hibernating after twisting my ankle two weeks ago while escaping huge icicles falling off a rooftop on a narrow medieval street paved with cobblestones. Lets just say that there’s a whole lot of things I’d rather do than walk with crutches in snow and on ice.

It’s interesting to see how much comes with the role of “being injured”, at first I was so surprised when someone offered me a seat on the bus and then I remembered oh yes, I’ve got these crutches. People can see that… Then again, this is a role I’ll soon be able to step out of, and I’m so grateful for that.

This whole thing has been a drain though, so things have been quiet round here. But enough with the drama!

I found a desktop wallpaper with Forsythia, that somehow didn’t make it into the move to WordPress, and re-released it. I hope it brightens your day with thoughts of spring to come!

Hi Kate. So sorry to hear about your injury. Wishes for a speedy recovery. The wallpaper is very springy and cheery. We all need that at this time of the year. thanks

  2. Oh no! Hope you mend quickly though I have to say that your first para about how you got your injury was hilarious – could have been worse if you hadn’t dodged the icicle! Take care.

  3. I hadn’t realised icicles could be so dangerous! Hope you are feeling a bit better now – hibernating is probably the best thing to do at the moment – try and enjoy the rest :)

  4. well timed, Kate, with the re-release of the forsythia wallpaper. Just the thing for these blue/grey days.

And the story of your injury is the stuff of sit-coms, dodging icicles on a cobblestone street. You can’t make this stuff up ;)

Thank you for your supportive comments! And yes, it is funny in a way! And so silly, I heard a big thud behind me (which turned out to be ice blocks and icicles) and rushed forward only to slip on a large ice block hiding in the sludge! Anyways, thank you all!

  6. Oh my poor Kate. I do hope your ankle is feeling better. Those icicles are really something and completely dangerous. I’m so glad you avoided it but sorry about the ankle. Hang there.
