You bring your own traffic but If you like, you can list your store in Big Cartel’s store directory: http://directory.bigcartel.com/
and I’m noticing that I’m actually getting some visits to my blog from my store.
Big Cartel does not have the community aspect that Etsy has. There are both pros and cons to this, but as Etsy grows it’s getting easier to get lost in the Etsy crowd and people are driven to set unrealistically low prices to compete with the price dumping going on on Etsy.
Bringing your own customers also means that your customers don’t accidentally wander off to your competition or that when you promote your store on your blog, you ultimately promote Etsy as a whole.

Yes, I am definitely book marking your post for later reading. Thank you, so much, for sharing these. I just stumbled upon the Productive Flourishing blog yesterday; I was reading ‘Use The Two-Tab Rule To Stay Focused’ post, which is really good advice while you are in the middle of doing some research. I tend to loose my way while reading terrific and helpful stuff on the internet from my habit of digressing.
