Audrey Tautou does a splendid job as Chanel, I didn't know much about Coco Chanel before I saw the film so it was an excellent introduction to how liberating her fashion was, how daring both in respect to gender roles and comfort. After seeing the film, I read more about her, and discovered that there are some question marks around her liaisons during World War II which were left out of the film since it didn't deal with that part of her life.
