On My Mind in February

Goddess Artemis, Diana, Selene. Ink and watercolour with Adobe Fresco.

As February sets in, the chill of winter tightens its grip once more. The soft embrace of snow returns, blanketing the world in serene white. The landscape transforms into a pristine tableau, as if nature itself has hit the reset button. The days may be short, but the hushed beauty of the snow-covered earth brings a sense of peace and calm. There is a quiet magic to be found in the return of winter's icy touch.

  • The Ebb & Flow of Creativity: Online life drawing. Artemis, the ancient Greek goddess of the hunt, wilderness, nature, and childbirth. Associated with caring for children, wild animals, and plants. Later connected to Selene, the Moon embodiment. Roman counterpart: Diana. Miss Muse Life Drawing.

  • On my Palette: fuchsia, lime green with shades of grey and starry white.

  • On the Stage: Lolo Amble and August Strindberg: Dödsdansen (The Dance of Death) at Strindbergs intima teater. Two actresses meet on a deserted stage waiting for something to happen. The past and present collide in the repetitive exploration of the present moment, their roles, and the staging. A struggle between life, the theatre, and how it will all end. An existential and humorous performance with two of Sweden's most influential actresses.

  • Film: Poor Things.

  • Lunch with a friend: Le Passepartout.

  • Watching: Maryland, In the Dark and Men Up.

  • On my Windowsill: white Muscari White Magic (Grape Hyacinth), pink tulips, pink hyacinths and white narcissus.
