On My Mind during the Days In-between

  • The Ebb & Flow of Creativity: We have passed the shortest day. Winter Solstice. But one couldn’t tell. December has barely brought an hour of sunlight, when you string all the grey days together. I hope the new year will bring us all brighter days. Energy. Hope. Love.

  • In my Kitchen: a variation of Nigel Slater’s recipe for sprout tops and fregola. My version has wheatberry instead of fregola.

  • On my Radio: The Death of Nuance: Twisting My Words. How expanding our vocabulary could change not only our view of the world, but our understanding of our own minds.

  • On my Balcony: Seed catalogues. Dreams of a bluebell wood with a carpet of flowering bluebells in the spring. Winter blooming clematis: Clematis cirrhosa 'Freckles'. Making botanical drawings.

  • Gratitude: Friends and family. A small life.

  • Weekend Projects: Tidy up my bathroom. Buy a bottle of champagne for New Year’s Eve.
